The 10th annual Pet Rock Festival is coming!
Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.
The Pet Rock Festival is an annual fund raising event, organized by Charlene Arsenault and her team, that supports animal welfare organizations in Worcester and surrounding areas. It’s also an opportunity for animal lovers and these organizations to network with each other. If you’d like to know who they are supporting this year, a list of this year’s beneficiaries can be found here.
Tickets for the event are: $12 adults, $5 kids 12 and under. Find more information about the event and tickets here.
But it’s not just about money and networking; it’s also a great entertaining day. They have a schedule posted on the Pet Rock web site that includes music, awards, raffles, face painting and crafts and lots of other fun-looking stuff. The site says that Clifford the Big Red Dog might even be there.
There will be food court hosted by the Boston Vegetarian Society. Hit their site, they have a lot of information about what they do.
This is a great event for kids to attend. It’s fun AND educational. The event is a great place to help kids learn what it means to be a good pet owner.
It’s also a great event for your favorite dog to attend. They will have contests, a special “Dog Water Park”for cooling down, “Ask the Vet” and all sorts of things to sniff and look at. Dogs will love coming along with you to the event.
Cats probably won’t like the event so much but they do have their own special online event. There is a “Cat Photo Contest” open for entries right now. Here’s the link to the contest information. Being the proud owner of 2 cats, I’m thinking about entering my own “fur children”. Maybe they’ll even win something… on second thought, probably not. I’ve seen the competition and I don’t think they can beat some of that cuteness.
