I got a great note from Gwendolyn Mason Callahan of the “Wee Aide” organization letting me know that the collection this year was a great success.
Wee Aide along with RSVP here in Worcester collected much needed scarves, gloves, socks and personal items then packaged them and distributed them to homeless veterans.
Gwen tells me that all together 782 gift bags were delivered not only to all the Veterans they could reach but also to many other persons, including street people, who needed a little help.
The boxes went to veterans staying in the shelter at Grove St., Cambridge and Canterbury Streets and they even had enough to send some out to the shelter at Fort Devens.
She will pass me more information about the Wee Aide organization and how everyone can help and I’ll make sure I get it up on this blog.
